In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Open Scene proudly brought together the best of local talent for an unforgettable event.
The evening featured a dramatic reading of the winning play from the first edition of the Escena Abierta Playwriting Contest, written by Guillermo Severiche and directed by Eliana Strático. The talented cast (in alphabetical order) included Abigaíl Laboy, Aixa Méndez, Alejandro Guevarez, Claudia Caicedo, Edwin Yumar, and Jerald Speare.
Live music filled the air with captivating performances by Ka Malinalli (Mexico), Nélida Málaga (Argentina), and Leo Aether (Colombia). The event also showcased a stunning flamenco performance by Bolivian dancer Jenny Ríos.
Visual artists enriched the atmosphere with their works, featuring contributions from Boris Quino (Peru), Geraldine Diaz (Venezuela), Javier Acosta (Colombia), JJ Gonzalez Acosta (Venezuela), Julio Sánchez (Dominican Republic), Nélida Málaga (Argentina), Sarahy Boraure (Venezuela), Rebeca Calixtro (Peru), Patricia Cavazos (Mexico), and Yaneth Monsalve (Colombia).
The evening delighted families with puppet shows by Titirifá and offered delicious food and crafts that celebrated the richness of Latin culture.
This vibrant celebration was a testament to the incredible creativity and diversity of our local community.
