Introducing the Fourth Edition of the Latin American Performing Arts Festival (FLAE) by Open Scene! This year's festival showcases an exciting lineup of free workshops, online plays, and in-person activities spanning from Barcelona and Buenos Aires to Miami, Washington D.C., and New York.
We're thrilled to bring exclusive premieres to the stage, including the Florida Premiere of Gustavo Ott's "Bandolero y Malasangre" from Washington D.C., the Orlando Premiere of Sergio Blanco's "Tebas Land" from Miami, and the Florida Premiere of "Odd Man Out" from New York—a gripping pitch-black experience that promises to captivate audiences.

LATIN AMERICAN FESTIVAL OF PERFORMING ARTS
The Latin American Festival of Performing Arts (FLAE) features a dynamic week-long showcase of the best professional theatre, dance, live music, and visual arts created by Latinx and Iberoamerican artists worldwide. The festival also offers online workshops and plays.

Criteria for acceptance of works and steps to follow to participate in the fourth edition of the Latin American Festival of Performing Arts (FLAE):

Only theatrical works produced in Spanish will be received, or, in the case of productions in other languages or where there is no word present, such as dance, dance-theater, mixed media, etc., at least 60% of the production team must be of Latin American descent; Production team means talent, technical and creative team, authors, directors.

They can be published or unpublished works. Works previously released, awarded, read publicly or not, will be accepted.

A resumé of each participant in the creative process must also be attached: playwright, director, producer.

The work must be between 45 and 120 minutes long. Plays are accepted to be transmitted via the Internet or presented in person. The works chosen to be streamed will require a talkback with the production team and the audience at the end; live productions will be favored.

For evaluation purposes, interested parties must send, by February 4, 2024, at 11:59 pm Eastern time, the complete script, an uncut video of the production, a video of a rehearsal, or a detailed description of it if it has yet to be produced.

Open Scene will evaluate the works in order of reception, considering those that fit the production possibilities within the framework of the FLAE.

Works written and produced by Latin American women or authors identified with the female gender will have special consideration.
The groups selected to participate in the FLAE, both digitally and in person, will receive financial compensation, the details of which will be shared after being elected.
