The Blue Element is a free interactive art installation by Open Scene for Winter Park Arts Weekend. This multi-sensory experience invites visitors to explore the connection between art, environment, and community, transforming public spaces into immersive, thought-provoking encounters.

Conceived as an “artistic bridge” between City Hall and Central Park, The Blue Element comprises three interconnected components designed to spark curiosity, reflection, and community engagement.
The project features:
1. We Are Water by American Artist Gisela Romero: Returning to the art scene following the historical success of her Maitland A&H Museums exhibition A Constant Goodbye, Romero has created this first part of the installation with eight large panels using fabric, wood, and mixed media. Interwoven throughout is an original poem dedicated to water—an essential element of both Winter Park’s landscape and our shared humanity.
2. Pathway of Words: Excerpts from Romero’s water-themed poem will be reproduced on acrylic panels attached to trees, forming a trail. This unique “path of words” leads visitors from City Hall to a blue-domed structure on Park Avenue, symbolically uniting these two central community spaces.
