ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT

At Open Scene, we strive to create an inclusive and welcoming experience for everyone who visits our website, going beyond the guidelines of Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1998.

OUR COMMITMENT

To ensure that the Open Scene website is accessible to everyone, we follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2. These guidelines help make web content more accessible to people with disabilities, compatible with assistive technologies, and more user-friendly for everyone.

WCAG has three levels of accessibility (A, AA, and AAA), and we have set our goal to achieve Level AA accessibility across our website.

WHAT WE'VE DONE

We’ve worked diligently on improving the accessibility of the Open Scene website. To achieve our Level AA goal, we’ve conducted both manual and automated testing.

The following sections of the website were included in our accessibility work:

  • Home

  • About

  • FLAE

  • Escena Abierta

  • Events

  • Open Zine

  • Previous Seasons

  • Show OS Love

  • Cool Stuff

  • Contact

  • Blog

  • Accessibility Statement

We conducted manual testing using assistive technologies such asVoiceOver, along with proprietary software for automated testing.

We are aware that some third-party content provided on our site may not yet fully meet the WCAG 2.2 Level AA guidelines. We are actively working with vendors to update these areas as quickly as possible. Some of the third-party elements that are being updated include:

  • YouTube (We are working to ensure captions are enabled for all videos)

  • Social Media Widgets

We will continue to monitor and improve the accessibility of our site on a regular basis, aiming to provide an inclusive experience for all visitors. If you encounter any issues or have concerns, we encourage you to contact us.
